Citation building and listings cleanup

Every place your business is listed online, from Yelp to the BBB to industry directories, is a citation. When they all agree, Google and AI search trust your business more. When they disagree, you lose ground without knowing why. We find every listing and make them match.

Why matching details matter

Google and AI tools build a picture of your business from everything they can find about it. When your name, address, phone number and website are identical across many trusted sites, that picture is confident: this is a real business, here, doing this. When some sites show an old address, a different phone number or a slightly different name, the picture blurs, and a business with clean, consistent details tends to be preferred.

It also matters to customers. Someone who finds an old number on a directory and gets no answer does not try again. They call the next business.

What we do

Find everything that is out there

We search for every listing of your business, including ones you never created. Many directories build listings automatically from other data, so most established businesses have more out there than they realize, and often some of it is wrong.

Fix what is wrong and remove duplicates

We correct inaccurate listings and deal with duplicates, which can split your reviews and confuse search engines about which listing is real.

Build the listings that count

Type Examples
Major platforms Google, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Yelp, Facebook
Trust and reputation Better Business Bureau, Nextdoor
Industry directories Angi and Houzz for home services, Healthgrades and Zocdoc for dentists, Avvo and Justia for law firms
Data aggregators The services that feed business data to hundreds of smaller sites, maps and navigation apps
Local Chambers of commerce and local business associations, where you are a member

Keep it right

Listings drift. Platforms change, data gets overwritten, and new duplicate listings appear. We monitor them, and when your details change, such as new hours or a new phone number, we update them everywhere.

How this fits with everything else

Citations support your Google Maps ranking and are one of the main sources AI search uses to check facts about your business. They are rarely the whole answer on their own, but messy listings quietly hold back everything else.

Questions owners ask

What does NAP stand for?

Name, address and phone number. They are the core details that need to match exactly wherever your business is listed online, along with your website, hours and categories.

I moved or changed my number years ago. Does it still matter?

Yes. Old listings with a previous address or phone number often stay online for years and keep confusing search engines and customers. Finding and fixing them is one of the most useful things we do for businesses that have moved.

Do I need to be on hundreds of directories?

No. A few dozen accurate, relevant listings matter far more than hundreds of low quality ones. We focus on the major platforms, the data aggregators that feed them, and the directories specific to your industry and area.
