Scorpion: what it offers, how the contract works, and the alternatives

Scorpion is one of the best known marketing companies for home service businesses and law firms. If you are comparing it with other options, or wondering whether to stay, these are the facts that matter most: the contract, what you own when you leave, and what clients report.

What Scorpion sells

Scorpion provides marketing for law firms, home service companies, healthcare practices and franchises: websites built on its own platform, SEO, management of Google Ads, Local Services Ads and Meta ads, and a marketing technology platform with reporting. (Scorpion FAQ)

Pricing

Scorpion does not publish prices. Its FAQ says the cost depends on your business goals. Third party write ups report management fees from roughly $1,500 to over $10,000 a month for home service businesses, and higher for large law firms, with ad spend on top. Several of those write ups come from competitors, so treat them as rough guides and get a written quote.

The contract

According to Scorpion's own FAQ, its marketing technology and services such as SEO typically require a 12 month contract, while digital advertising such as Google Ads and Local Services Ads is typically month to month. The FAQ does not spell out notice periods or renewal terms, so read those in your agreement before signing.

What you own if you leave

Scorpion's FAQ says:

  • You own your website after your contract term is complete, though not the platform it runs on.
  • Domains, content and imagery are yours.
  • After you fulfil your contract, Scorpion transfers accounts such as Google Analytics, Google Local Services Ads and social accounts.

The FAQ does not cover your Google Business Profile, call tracking numbers or Google Ads accounts, or what happens if you leave early. Whoever you work with, make sure you are the primary owner of your Google Business Profile and add agencies as managers. See owner vs manager.

What reviewers report

As of 2 November 2026:

  • BBB: A+ rating, accredited since 2016, 6 complaints in the last three years.
  • Trustpilot: 3.9 out of 5 from 36 reviews, a small sample.

Positive reviews mention responsive account managers and more calls. Critical reviews mention price, upselling, long contracts and slow handovers at the end of a contract. With so few reviews, read these as individual experiences. BBB letter grades do not include customer reviews, so a high grade and complaints can sit side by side.

Questions to ask before you sign any agency contract

  1. How long is the minimum term, and how do I cancel?
  2. Does it renew automatically?
  3. Who owns the website, domain, content and ad accounts if I leave early?
  4. Will I be the primary owner of my Google Business Profile?
  5. Do the call tracking numbers stay with me?
  6. What exactly will you do each month, and how will I see it?
